Memoria Fotográfica
Presentado en Octubre en Montevideo
Memoria fotográfica es un proyecto de investigación interpretativa sobre el archivo de imágenes del Centro de Fotografía de la Intendencia de Montevideo. Esta fototeca, con sus presencias y sus ausencias funciona como disparador de diferentes lecturas y propuestas por parte de los artistas, invitados con un criterio tanto de calidad como de diversidad de enfoques, medios y formas de producir, buscando la amplitud en los resultados visuales y conceptuales de las propuestas.
Hay artistas que trabajan con la imagen desde las disciplinas del dibujo o la pintura, como Martín Vergés o Santiago Velazco, pasando por otros formados en la propia disciplina de la fotografía como Magela Ferrero, Ana Inés Maiorano o Majo Zubillaga; propuestas más conceptuales que apuntan al trabajo sobre archivos como eje estructurador como las de Alberto Lastreto o Eduardo Molinari y Azul Blaseotto y trabajos que abordan al archivo desde la performance y su documentación como en los casos de Lucila Gradín o Jacqueline Lacasa.
El disparador creativo puede estar dado por la presencia de determinados elementos, tanto en fotos aisladas como en series, así como por la ausencia de otros elementos. En una primera aproximación, un elemento que resulta llamativo a casi todos los participantes es, sobre todo en el material que incluye hasta la primera mitad del SXX, el carácter de “no instantánea”, de foto preparada para ser parte de un documento, con la pose correspondiente a esa actitud. Esto puede verse reflejado de distintas maneras en varios trabajos, en esta etapa previa del proceso creativo
